Report: Wolves dealt a blow in pursuit of 26 y/o

|

According to Fanatik via Sport Witness, Wolverhampton Wanderers have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Christian Luyindama with Aston Villa entering the race for his signature.

The 26-year-old only joined Galatasaray permanently last summer after impressing on loan the previous season, so it seems unlikely that he could be moved on in the coming months. Fanatik say Fatih Terim views Luyindama as a key player so it may take a sizeable bid to get the club’s attention.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Luyindama has made a total of 32 appearances in all competitions for Gala. The DR Congo international made 15 appearances across the board this season but hasn’t featured since November after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.

He since recovered and is now training on his own, so there shouldn’t be any problems with him passing a fitness test. It just remains to be seen if Gala would consider selling him.

Wolves have Conor Coady, Willy Boly, Max Kilman, Romain Saiss, Dion Sanderson, Leander Dendoncker and maybe Ryan Bennett at their disposal, but Nuno Espirito Santo appears keen to bring in another centre-back – the Midlands outfit have been linked with Tosin Adarabioyo and Gabriel Magalhaes.

Vital Wolves named five centre-backs who are represented by Jorge Mendes who Wolves could consider – Ruben Dias (Benfica), Gabriel Paulista (Valencia), Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City), Ruben Vezo (Levante), Ezequiel Garay (Valencia) –  but it remains to be seen who will be brought in.
