Wolves are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Dijon forward Mounir Chouiar, a report from L’Equipe has claimed.

Chouiar joined Dijon from fellow French side Lens last summer, and has since gone onto score six goals in 26 appearances in all competitions for his current club, seemingly attracting attention from England.

According to the latest reports, Wolves are paying particularly close attention to Chouiar, who has not been named in the matchday squad for his current club’s match with Stade Brest this afternoon.

Along with Wolves, both Arsenal and Leeds have been credited with an interest in bringing the 21-year-old to the Premier League this summer.

It is thought that Dijon would demand a fee of between €15m-€20million for Chouair, who has two years remaining on his current contract, putting the Ligue 1 side in a strong position to negotiate any offers that might come in for French Under 19 international.

With that in mind, you do have to wonder whether this is a deal that is really worth pursuing for Wolves at this moment in time.

Having already spent big this summer, you have to wonder whether a significant amount is worth spending on a player such as this, given he has not exactly been prolific in France recently, let alone the Premier League.

That being said, the fact there also seems to be interest from two other Premier League clubs in Arsenal and Leeds does seem to indicate that there is potential there with Chouair.

Indeed, the fact he has been left out of Dijon’s game on Sunday implies that a deal is close, and it will be interesting to se just where he ends up.
