Sami Khedira could be looking for a move to England in the summer due to the fact his girlfriend, Melanie Leupolz, has agreed a move to Chelsea, reports in Italy suggest.

The 32-year-old former World Cup winner has struggled for opportunities with Juventus this season, and that could mean that he will want a move away in the summer window.

Khedira had to undergo knee surgery during the season, and that has meant that he has not made an appearance since November.

Birmingham Live state that he had an opportunity to buy in the summer after a deal was sanctioned by Jorge Mendes, but the defensive midfielder didn’t fancy a move to Molineux.

Nevertheless, Calciomercato report that with Leupolz – the current captain of the Bayern Munich women’s team – moving to Chelsea, then Khedira may soon follow to London to maintain their relationship.

The report also states how a move to Wolves could be back on the cards due to the Jorge Mendes link, but they also say that West Ham could be sniffing around to see if they can bring the player to London.

Khedira has made 17 appearances all season for Juve, with 12 coming in the league and five in the Champions League.

From those games, WhoScored’s match scoring algorithm hasn’t rated him particularly highly, with him only averaging a score 6.43/10 from his 12 Serie A performances, the 23rd highest average rating in the squad.

Statistically, he averages only 1.2 tackles, 0.3 interceptions and 0.9 clearances per game in the defensive department, as well as averaging 0.7 key passes per game and 25.5 passes per match, which doesn’t rate too highly against his counterparts.

While his performances haven’t been great for Juve this season, he could still add extra depth to this Wolves team, but he still might fail to break into the team with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves being such important players to the squad.

Regardless of whether he would be a good addition, a deal still looks a long way away, as the link still seems rather tenuous at this stage.
