According to Football Insider, Liverpool are ‘eyeing’ a move for Adama Traore as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah. The 24-year-old has been in fantastic form for Wolverhampton Wanderers this season and has attracted a lot of interest in his signature.

Traore joined Wolves from Middlesbrough in 2018 and has gone on to make 79 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and making 13 assists. The Spaniard has been in fine form this season, contributing toward 16 goals (six scored, 10 assisted) in 43 games across the board and is arguably now one of the best wingers in the Premier League.

As per WhoScored, Traore’s had a hand in 11 goals in 22 league starts, created 38 chances, completed 73.6% of his 568 passes, whipped in 144 crosses with 21.5% accuracy, won 34 aerial duels (44%), made 145 successful dribbles (74%), took 34 shots with 26% accuracy, blocked 16 passes/crosses/shots, recorded 12 clearances, won 63 free-kicks and averaged a tackle (32) or interception (12) every 47 minutes.

Traore can beat his opposite marker with ease in games and has improved his end product this season, so he was always going to be linked with a move away – Real Madrid are believed to have shown an interest, and the 24-year-old has gone on record to say he’d be open to a move, but it remains to be seen if they’ll pursue him this summer.

The Football Insider say Liverpool are planning for the potential departure of Mane and/or Salah in the future, but it’s hard to see them making an official bid with RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner often touted to be on their wishlist.

Wolves are keen to keep Traore at Molineux too and don’t want to sell him for less than £75m. The 24-year-old has three more years remaining on his deal, so there’s no rush to cash in.
