Report: Club ‘negotiating’ with Wolves over £315k-rated man, 21 y/o could make ‘loan move’

According to Coventry Live, Coventry City are ‘negotiating’ with Wolverhampton Wanderers over Renat Dadashov. The 21-year-old has struggled for first-team football under Nuno Espirito Santo and could complete a ‘loan move’ away from Molineux this summer.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Dadashov joined Wolves from Estoril for £450k in 2019 and has gone on to make four appearances for the U23s, scoring two goals. He was immediately loaned out to Pacos Ferreira (August 7, 2019 – December 31, 2019) and made nine appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal with one assist.

Coventry Live added that the Azerbaijan international came close to joining Birmingham City on loan in January but rejected the Blues and spent the second half of the season with Wolves’ U23s. Dadashov has yet to make a first-team appearance but was named in the Europa League squad by Nuno, so he’s clearly thought of highly.

The £315k-rated striker looks unlikely to be a regular next season with Raul Jimenez and Leonardo Campana for competition, so a loan move away would suit all parties. Nuno has shown a willingness to give young players opportunities, naming 17 players aged 21 or under in Wolves’ matchday squad at least once this season, but Jimenez has amassed 2820/2970 minutes of Premier League football this season so other strikers aren’t getting a look-in.
