Wolves have tabled an offer to sign winger Pepe from Gremio, a report from Brazilian outlet Globoesporte has claimed.

Pepe has impressed in his native Brazil, scoring 21 goals in 99 appearances in all competitions for his current club, and it seems the 23-year-old is now starting to attract some significant interest from elsewhere.

According to this latest update, Wolves have submitted an offer for Pepe, and while it remains to be seen whether Gremio will accept that bid, the player’s agent is now set to fly to England to hold further talks with the Premier League club about this potential deal.

As things stand, there are just over three years remaining on Pepe’s current contract with Gremio, putting the Brazilian side in a strong position to negotiate any offers that come in for the winger.

Indeed, it seems there may be more than just Wolves involved in this particular transfer pursuit, with Bayern Munich, PSG, Roma, Porto and Ajax all reported to have watched the player in recent times.

With that in mind, you feel Wolves could be well advised to move quickly here given the prospect of that level of interest from elsewhere, particularly given that the need for reinforcements this summer still remains around Molineux as things stand.

Indeed, with Raul Jiminez and Adama Traore already causing problems for top-flight defences on a regular basis, Pepe could be just what Nuno’s side to form the sort of attacking trio that has proven so effective for other Premier League teams in recent years.
