Wolverhampton Wanderers’ £18million capture from Middlesbrough this summer, Adama Traore, won plenty of admirers from Manchester United as we faced the Blue of City last weekend.
With his departure from the Riverside Stadium turning into a rather lengthy and drawn out affair as our interest in him was very much ‘on and off’, the 22-year-old didn’t start the game for Nuno Espirito Santo but he did come off the bench to replace Helder Costa in the 72nd minute of the match and he seriously seems to have impressed these United fans despite the cameo nature of the appearance.
Imagine a Traore on our RW, already an improvement. Shows how bad we are #mufc

We could've ACTUALLY used Adama Traore at RW. A very direct winger and a dream for any striker to likes to stay in the box. #mufc

This traore is dangerous. I know he's not world class but he's better than any of our RW #MUFC

Rumours at Carrington say Ed Woodward is now calculating how many shirt sales & sponsorship deals Adama Traore would generate at United.

Sir Alex would have been licking his lips looking at Adama Traore.#MUFC #WOLMCI

The comments won’t be news to Middlesbrough or Wolverhampton Wanderers fans as we’ve already seen a few flashes of what he’s potentially going to be capable of as he adjusts to the gaffer’s desires and instructions and settles into life further at the club. Whilst there’s a fair amount of downplaying given the state United find themselves in these days after former glories, I think it can only be a positive for us if that’s how he’s being spoken about as they don’t maybe have the same vested interests in talking him up given the natural bias our fans have.
To think, he’ll only get better!
