Do not expect a revolving door at Molineux this season.

While quite a few members of the Wolves squad will be leaving over the summer, I’m not expecting many new signings to walk in through the door as Wolves target quality during the off season to improve on our 15th place finish this year.

“Will the accent be on quality rather than quantity? Yes indeed. We`re all in total agreement on that.’ Wolves owner Steve Morgan told the Express & Star.

This season Mick McCarthy attempted to buy virtually a new squad following promotion to the Premier League and a part from a couple of notable exceptions, most failed to live up to expectations.

Morgan added: “With hindsight, we brought nine players into the club last summer plus some loan players later. It`s a lot to absorb into a club at any one time.’

“Once you are established in the Premier League, it`s a case of gently adding to it and hopefully raising the quality rather than wholesale additions.”

Vital Wolves Comment: McCarthy quickly learned what was needed this season to survive in the Premier League.

There was some early season tinkering which didn’t quite work, but now I think he knows exactly the type of players he needs to strengthen the side and our transfer moves will be more clinical this time around.
