Well that didn’t take long did it? Premier League clubs are already keeping a close eye on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Bakary Sako.
Now on Tuesday I may have written the following: ‘He’s probably only going to get better and better with time and he’s probably the one player who we will struggle to hold on to’
But I did go on and add: ‘beyond this season’ and ‘if we do not manage to bounce straight back up into the Premier League.’
Sky Sports on the other hand believe that we could be at risk of losing him during THIS upcoming January transfer window!
The 24-year-old form of 6 goals in 14 league games since joining the club from St Etienne in the summer has ‘alerted Premier League clubs to his potential’ according to Sky Sports.
Thankfully though Wolves gaffer Ståle Solbakken seems confident that he will not be losing his star player after only a few months.
‘(Scouts are) something we have to live with – as long as we have television sets, people will look at him,’ he told Sky.
He added: ‘Him leaving? No, not at all – that’s out of the question, supporters shouldn’t be worried about that. There are no discussions about that at all.
‘He signed a long-term contract and he’s been here for four months. He can only add to his game by staying here.’
Vital Wolves Comment: Lets hope that resolve isn’t tested with a big January bid.
