Wolves midfielder Darren Potter has impressed manager Mick McCarthy enough to be taken off the transfer list.

The Irish International had thought his days at Molineux were over, but an about turn by the gaffer has seen him back competing for a starting spot

‘I never wanted to leave anyway so I was more than happy when the gaffer asked me if I wanted to be taken off the list,’ Potter told the clubs official site.

The move clears the way for Mark Davies to go out on loan as soon as he recovers from his latest injury, that halted a move to Notts Copunty before the end of the transfer window.

‘Sparky would have gone out on loan but he had sore shins and needed to rest. He was going to go to Notts County for a month, just to get some football.

‘He needs to play but then having ‘Potts’ off the list and ready to compete for a spot gives me the opportunity to send Mark out when he is fit.’ McCarthy told Wolves World.
