Yesterday Wolverhampton Wanderers announced the loan capture of young defender Ruben Vinagre.

The 18 year old makes the switch to the Molineux on a season long loan deal having recently signed a new three year deal with Monaco.

The left back will work with both our Under 23 side and our senior side as he adjusts to life at the club, and he’s been capped by Portugal at every junior level through to Under 18.

Having started his career with Sporting CP in Portugal, he joined Monaco’s youth ranks in the summer of 2015 and last summer he was part of Portugal’s Under 17’s who lifted the European Championships.

Speaking to the Official Website he explained.

‘I am very happy to come to a big club like Wolves for this season. A new story starts for me here at a club with big aspirations in the Championship. I like English football and the Championship and this is the perfect chance for me to get some experience.’

He added.

‘I am 18 years old and this is a really positive move for me and a good challenge. Working with such a good Head Coach will be perfect for me and I am looking forward to working with him and doing my best for the team and the supporters.’
