Player power means that European club are confident they will have Wolves striker soon – report

Rafa Mir is wanting out from both Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers – and that has put belief in SD Huesca that they can get their man.

According to reports in Heraldo (via Sport Witness), the Spanish club are ‘optimistic’ about signing the 22-year-old, despite him currently being on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Mir’s lack of football while in Nottingham has opened up speculation to his loan deal being cut short – and there have subsequently been further rumours that he could be out of England altogether pretty soon, with a move back to Spain looking likely.

There seems to be a long list of Spanish admirers – Real Zaragoza, Mallorca, Eibar and Granada have also been linked – but according to Heraldo, it is Segunda Division Huesca who have a genuine belief they can capture Mir.

The same story says that Mir has made it clear to those at Wolves that he wants a return to Spain once his deal is cancelled in the Championship.

Huesca should be able to foot the bill for his wages until the end of the season – worth around €500k – due to the fact they have allowed Damian Musto out on loan, which will have generated about €400ks worth.

Mir’s long-term future at Wolves looks to be all but gone after his torrid spell in Nottingham. The youngster has just six months remaining on his contract, and given his lack of appearances and goals for Forest, Wolves will doubt that he can do it at a level higher.

It has now been over a month since he has featured for Forest, and since joining in the summer, he has played just 210 minutes of Championship football, not scoring in any competition.

Mir isn’t the only striker who looks to be on his way from the Black County; Patrick Cutrone is also nearing a move on the continent, with Fiorentina set to sign the Italian on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
