Plenty of Wolves fans on Twitter have sent messages to former player Barry Douglas after the club tweeted about him.

With it being two years yesterday when Cardiff and Wolves played out a top of the table classic in the Championship, Barry Douglas revealed to the club’s website why he takes credit for Ruben Neves’ winner.

Douglas, who now plays for Leeds United, says that he managed to get Mike Dean to put the wall back 11 yards rather than 10. The 30-year-old claimed that he asked Dean to ensure that the wall didn’t creep forward as they had done before, to which he replied ‘I tell you what, I’ll give you 11 yards’, which he allegedly did, before Neves hits it straight into the top corner.

Is £150m enough for Jimenez and Traore?

Not a chance

Yes, good money

Yes, good money

Not sure

After being brought to the club from Konyaspor for a fee of around £1m, he went onto make a big impact with his season at the club, recording an incredible 15 assists from 42 games. The Scotsman also managed to add five goals, meaning that he had 20 goal contributions playing mainly at left-back.

Despite his great record that season, he was sold on before he had the chance of playing in the Premier League, moving to Leeds.

Nevertheless, plenty of Wolves fans haven’t forgotten about what a great player he was during that time, and when the club posted a tweet about his words from the Cardiff match, supporters made that abundantly clear.

Looks like he left all that back at Wolves then. Because for what he has done at ER you can have him back. Only 3rd choice now and not good enough if we go up

New management took over and it’s obvious he doesn’t fit in but you can see why Leeds bought him when he was sold everyone at Wolves was asking why? After having a great season it was a shock when he was given away but the replacements speak for themselves, that doesn’t mean to say he wasn’t any good!
