Ruben Neves came away with a lot of praise for his performance in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, but Adama Traore was the standout man on Thursday.

The 23-year-old created numerous chances for his teammates, had opportunities to score himself, frequently took on his opposite marker and drew multiple fouls on the night.

Traore also made an assist for Raul Jimenez, whipping in a fantastic ball for the Mexican international to head home an equaliser.

Against Liverpool, the Spaniard played for 90 minutes, had 42 touches, won one aerial duel, completed 81.3% of his 16 passes, had two shots with 50% accuracy, created two chances, whipped in 10 crosses, made six successful dribbles, drew three fouls and made one assist.

Traore has made 35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating 15 goals. Wolves’ in-form wide-man has contributed a goal in four of his last eight Premier League outings (incl. Tottenham, Manchester City, Liverpool).

He’s enjoying his best-ever return in the top-flight and continues to link up well with Jimenez – the pair have combined for eight goals in the Premier League this season.
