‘Outstanding’, ‘Brilliant’ – some fans hail Wolves defender after 2-1 defeat to Tottenham

Despite Wolverhampton Wanderers falling short to Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend, supporters reserved praise for Adama Traore, Joao Moutinho and Jonny Otto for their respective performances at Molineux.

Jonny, in particular, saw a lot of the ball over the 90 minutes and frequently turned over possession when Wolves didn’t have it. The 25-year-old was energetic down the left flank and nearly kept Tottenham at bay to earn a draw.

Against Spurs, Jonny made 72 touches, had two shots, made two clearances, completed 85.1% of his 47 passes, made two interceptions, whipped in two crosses, made four tackles, drew one foul and made one successful dribble.

The Spanish international has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating three goals. Jonny has been a regular at left-back and left wing-back in the Premier League, missing just one game from 17.

He’ll hope to return to winning ways when Wolves travel to face Norwich City on Saturday. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men are currently eighth in the table with 24 points from 17 games, having picked up just one win in four.
