Opinion: Wolves should consider 22-year-old Huddersfield Town man to bolster attack

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been linked with a move for Karlan Grant and should consider lodging a bid in January as they’re short of cover in attack. The 22-year-old has spent 10 months at Huddersfield Town, scoring and creating 16 goals in 30 appearances, but he could be allowed to leave for the right price.

Would Karlan Grant be a good signing for Wolves?

Yes

No

Grant has been in fine form this season, netting nine goals in 17 Championship outings, and would be good backup for Raul Jimenez. The former England u18 international is a product of Charlton Athletic’s academy and contributed 31 goals in 98 games for moving to the Terriers. He also had a loan spell at Crawley Town where he scored nine in 15 games.

Raul Jimenez has been outstanding for Wolves, scoring 14 goals in 23 appearances this season, but Nuno needs better backup than Patrick Cutrone (19 appearances, two goals). The Midlands outfit are likely to have stiff competition from Premier League sides for Grant, but their impressive form in the top-flight could see them as a more attractive proposition to other suitors.

Wolves are currently fifth in the top-flight and are on the cusp of sealing a place in the Europa League last-32.
