Barry Douglas left Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2018 and joined Leeds United on a three-year deal, but the 30-year-old’s time at Elland Road hasn’t gone to plan.

Douglas has struggled for fitness and playing time in the last 18 months and could be moved on this summer, if Football Insider’s report is to be believed.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

The Scottish international joined Wolves from Konyaspor for just £1m in July 2017 and went on to make 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and making 14 assists.

As per WhoScored, Douglas also created a total of 72 chances, won 98 aerial duels (43.8%), made 10 successful dribbles (71%), whipped in 234 crosses with 31.6% accuracy, had 28 shots with 32% accuracy, blocked 72 shots/passes/crosses, made 65 clearances, gave away 50 fouls and averaged a tackle (83) or interception (39) every 28 minutes during his sole year at Molineux.

The 30-year-old led Wolves to promotion and was sold to Leeds in July 2018 for £3m, but Douglas’ market value has slowly fallen due to his disappointing stint in West Yorkshire, where Injuries decimated the left-back’s playing time last season, causing him to miss 20 games in all competitions.

Douglas picked up a hamstring injury in October 2018, a muscular injury in January 2019, a calf injury in February and ruptured the medial ligament in his knee in April. The lack of playing time led to him failing to regain his starting place back the following season.

The Scottish international made 13 appearances in all competitions before the Covid-19 pandemic, amassing only 435 minutes of Championship football and spending the majority of the season as an unused substitute.

Douglas picked up an injury in August, had a knee problem in October and suffered another injury blow in January 2020. He spent the last two months on the bench and may not be a Leeds player come next season. Douglas has spent more time at Elland Road but accomplished far more in his 12 months at Molineux.
