Opinion: Wolves exit couldn’t have gone worse for 27-year-old

|

Michal Zyro left Wolverhampton Wanderers to join Korona Kielce last summer, but he’s struggled for playing time at the Kielce City Stadium and has already been loaned out to another club due to a lack of minutes under Mirosław Smyła.

The 27-year-old made 14 appearances in all competitions for Kielce this season, starting only four league games and racking up less than 500 minutes of playing time in the Ekstraklasa. Deemed surplus to requirements for the Polish outfit, Zyro has since joined Stal Mielec for the rest of the campaign.

He’s yet to make his debut but will be desperate to hit the ground running at the Stadion Stali Mielec as his career is spiralling. Zyro spent four years at Wolves, scoring and creating four goals in 10 appearances, but he never managed to nail down a regular place in the starting eleven.

The Polish international’s lack of playing time led to loan moves at Charlton Athletic (January 22, 2018 – May 31, 2018) and Pogon Szczecin (August 31, 2018 – June 30, 2019) before he was finally released.

Things haven’t gone well for Zyro since his permanent departure from the Midlands and it remains to be seen if he can turn things around at Mielic.
