Official: Wolves youngster leaves on loan, has option to sign permanently

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm that John Kitolano has joined Molde FK on a year-long loan and has the option to sign permanently in 12 months. The 2019 Eliteserien season ended in December and the 2020 campaign begins in April.

Kitolano joined Wolves from Odds BK in August 2018, but he’s failed to make a first-team appearance and has been stuck in the u23s. As per Transfermarkt, the 20-year-old has made 11 appearances for the reserves, making one assist.

The left-back, who’s made three appearances for Norway u20s, featured in Wolves’ EFL Trophy defeat to Salford (December 3, 2019), but he’s not been close to getting minutes at senior level and has been unfortunate with injuries.

With Jonny Otto and Ruben Vinagre for competition, the youngster never stood a chance of playing under Nuno Espirito Santo, so Kitolano opted to return to Norway to continue his development.

The 20-year-old made 21 appearances for Odds between 2016-2028 and should relish being back in the Eliteserien. Molde are the defending champions after finishing top on 68 points from 30 games, so Kitolano is joining a team with a bright future.
