Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed the departure of Bright Enobakhare by mutual consent. The 22-year-old’s exit isn’t a surprise, however, as he’d fallen out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo and was out of contract this summer.

Enobakhare hasn’t made a Wolves appearance for two years and has teetered between the Scottish Premiership, English Championship and League One since then, so it’s clear he’s not longer good enough to stay at Molineux. The Nigerian striker failed to build on his potential in his teenage years and now finds himself a free agent.

Which club did Wolves sign Raul Jimenez from?

Bright rose through the youth ranks to the Wolves first-team in 2015 and went on to make 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and making one assist. The departing centre-forward hasn’t played for Wolves since featuring in their 3-0 defeat to Sunderland (May 6, 2018).

In the last two years, Bright has been loaned out three times. He made six appearances without scoring for Kilmarnock (August 31, 2018 – January 6, 2019), had a hand in nine goals from 18 games at Coventry City (January 8, 2019 – May 31, 2019) and featured only three times for Wigan Athletic (August 8, 2019 – January 2, 2020) before his stint was cut short.

Nuno has Raul Jimenez, Leonardo Campana and Renat Dadashov to choose from ahead of Bright, so the 22-year-old won’t be missed.
