Official: Another Wolves striker leaves on loan

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm that Austin Samuels has left the club to join Kidderminster Harriers on loan until the end of the season. His temporary move away from Molineux comes as Rafa Mir sealed a loan switch to SD Huesca after cutting his time short at Nottingham Forest.

Samuels has yet to feature in Wolves’ first-team and has made all of his appearances at youth level. As per Transfermarkt, the 19-year-old has contributed 20 goals in 38 games for the u18s and seven goals in 30 games for the u23s.

He made the first-team squad on one occasion – unused substitute in Wolves’ EFL Cup defeat to Aston Villa (October 30, 2019) – but has opted for a move away to get regular football. Kidderminster currently sit 18th in the National League North with 26 points from 25 games, having won two and drawn one of their last three.

The Harries have scored one or less goals in three of their last four league outings, so they may benefit from another striker. Whether Samuels can prove his worth at the Aggborough Stadium remains to be seen, however.

The striker’s not been as prolific for the reserves, so his time in the non-league may be a rude awakening.
