With claims this week that Wolverhampton Wanderers could look to secure an early deal for Huddersfield Town winger Ramadan Sobhi before his value is presumed to increase at this summer’s African Cup of Nations tournament, it’s left a number of fans pretty perplexed.

To save overly repeating the basics of the story.

This Would Be An Interesting Gamble For Wolves As Winger Linked

The 22-year-old is out on loan at Egyptian club Al Ahly and his spell in his home country has been more successful than his time at the John Smith’s Stadium and whilst he’s unlikely to make much of an impact in our first team squad given his performances in the Championship and Premier League (although he could thrive in a more attacking side), much like the Benik Afobe deal I see sense in a short term gamble for a long term financial boost as we look to balance books.

In any event, fans reacting to the initial round of stories on social media were less than convinced.

There are others I simply can’t repeat here but I’m sure you get the gist.
