News: Wolves to take on Premier League giant in battle for £18m international

|

A report from Turkey suggests that Wolves are going to fight off strong Premier League competition for Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir – who Trabzonspor rate at £18m.

Cakir’s agent believes that we will have to fight off Liverpool and two other English clubs for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Cakir just received his second cap for Turkey last week in a 2-0 win over Andorra, and various clubs from around the world have scouted him.

The 23-year-old’s agent also says that there will be no deal possible in January, but next summer he will be on the move.

However, the fact this story has come from his agent should raise some doubt.

Football agents are known to speak to the press about their players to either generate interest or seal a better deal for their client at their current club.

Cakir may well be on the radar of Wolves, but this seems like agent talk and perhaps should be viewed with caution.

Will we beat Bournemouth?

Yes, We are on a good run

No, tough fixture

No, tough fixture

This is not the first goalkeeper to be linked with Wolves in recent weeks with our scouting team, also looking at Jose Sa and Gokhan Akkan– so it seems like a new keeper will arrive, but that may not be Cakir.
