It was a busy old Thursday for Wolverhampton Wanderers fans, as we had one eye on the summer transfer window deadline day and a second on the Europa League first leg clash with Pyunik.
Whilst there wasn’t a big money signing on Thursday, there was certainly reason for cheer as we made history with our comfortable 4-0 away victory on the evening and I can’t be alone in thinking that head coach Nuno Espirito Santo may go with more of a youthful aspect in the Molineux return leg given the test it would provide our youngsters with as we continue looking to the future.
In any event, although Romain Saiss didn’t get himself on the scoresheet, he certainly took significant praise from fans who took to social media to reflect on the win and his performance in particular.
Was going to put earlier, that I’m so glad he never went! I love saiss as much as he likes to pick up a yellow card!

Perfect result. Game done so next week a lot of young players can experience European football and we can then stay pretty fresh. Saiss was very good #WWFC

He was outstanding. A few passes that went straight through their midfield.

Our midfield is strong. Saiss has played well. Doc doesn't muck about. Vinagre will be pushing Jonny for a place. Let's see what Nuno does 2nd half? – Will we see Cutrone & Jesus? #wwfc

With plenty of strong performances on the night from the side, it’s good to see that everyone is still buying into the team ethic as given how we are playing so far, the worries about the potential second season syndrome are rapidly decreasing.
