Wolves shot stopper Matt Murray made his first appearance in over a year for Wolves reserves last night, but had to be removed on 23 minutes for precautionary reasons.
‘I just felt a little bit of discomfort in the early stages and the medical team felt there was no point in trying to carry on and play the 90 minutes and take any risks.’ Murray told Wolves Official Website.
It was his first taste of action since a ruptured patella tendon.
Wolves went on to win the reserves clash with Birmingham 2-0.
He continued: ‘It’s better to take the precaution, see how things settle down and then carry on my rehab.’
Vital Wolves Comment: Disappointing that he couldn’t complete the game, but with an injury such as this there was certainly no point taking any risks.
