It is being widely reported that Steve Morgan has given manager Mick McCarthy the go ahead to make two more signings before teh transfer window closes, with goalkeeping and defensive cover a priority.

Wolves frailties at the back were exploited by Morecambe, and an embarrasing cup exit was the result, with Graham Stack having done his case for a loan extension more harm than good.

With two days to go before the current window closes, McCarthy will have to move fast.

A Premiership loan deal may still be an option with the top clubs now having a clear picture who is surpluss to requirements.

But with McCarthy unwilling to guarantee any player a starting place, some Premiership managers hare known to be reluctant to do business with the Yorkshireman.
