Darren Potter was Mick McCarthy’s surprise choice for skipper in the black country derby when Karl Henry was sidelined with a bruised spleen.

But he wore the armband with pride, and acquitted himself admirably in the cauldron of a match and led his men to victory.

We need to do it all over again at Coventry”.

“If we go there and get beat it will put a real downer on this. We need to go there and get a result – even a draw wouldn’t be a bad thing the way they`ve been going recently.

“It`s difficult to go out and play again so soon, but if we win I don`t think anyone will be too bothered.”

If Jody Craddock returns on Tuesday night, Potter may have to relinquish the captains role, but is doubtful he will ever forget the day his Wolves bared their fangs and stopped The Throstles in flight.
