The mix is wrong, that’s the confession from Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett following three straight defeats.
Following the 5-0 hammering from Derby County, Wolverhampton Wanderers were suppose to take out our frustrations against Nottingham Forest.
With the heavy defeat coming just before the international break Wolves had two weeks of pent-up frustration, with the side chomping at the bit to get back out on the pitch and put everything that went wrong right.
With Nottingham Forest without a win in five games away from home, it looked the perfect set-up for Wolves to hit back and hit back hard.
So yet another heavy defeat was not what was expected and it feels like its pushed Wolves almost into a state of panic.
As a newly promoted team from League One, mid-table going into December isn’t exactly that bad a position to be in.
Looking at the table we are still only three points off the play-offs and five from the automatic promotion places.
But this is a club that is realistically pushing for back-to-back promotions to the Premier League following back-to-back relegations.
We might be above recently relegated sides Fulham and Cardiff, but we should be using the momentum from a promotion campaign to springboard us out of the second tier.
Even Brentford are doing better than us currently.
Something is wrong, three consecutive defeats, no win in four and just two wins in ten tell the story.
“We`ve got a lot of very good players capable of playing in the Championship and they`ve proved that, The mix isn`t right at the moment, the combination and the form isn`t right, and that has to change.
“There`s no point me sitting here saying everything is fantastic because it`s not.’ Jackett told the Wolves Official Website.
He continued: “While I don`t like losing I do understand these periods do come along somewhere along the line and then afterwards the concentration on the job and making sure you get that assessment right is the key for myself personally.”
