Kenny Miller is determined to leave Wolves on a high. The player Dave Jones bought for £3m from Rangers in 2001 leaves for Celtic on a free transfer this summer, but wants to repay Wolves fans loyalty to him, the only way he knows how. With goals.

And he shares most fans asessment of the current campaign being far from what was expected.

‘If I can finish off my Wolves career with a promotion it would be a dream end.’ he said

‘But with the team we have and the ability in the dressingroom we should be fighting for automatic promotion, never mind the play-offs,’

There are obvious similarities between Wolves current run, and the one that saw them promoted three seaons ago. Similarities Kenny thinks play in Wolves favour.

‘Now is the time to put a run together. We did it when we got promoted three seasons ago, coming into the playoffs on a late charge.’ he said, adding

‘Four seasons ago we were miles ahead of anyone and fell into the play-offs and were on a downer – but the season we went up under Dave Jones we went in on a high,’

A win today and confidence will soar in an already bouyant dressing room.

And don’t be surprised of that comes courtesy of something from King Kenny.
