Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is having no luck during this years January sales.

Our attempts to sign Hull City winger Stephen Hunt have failed.

Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford this week withdrew his transfer request, before reportedly signing a pre-contract agreement with Everton.

Aston Villa`s Craig Gardner looks set for a switch to Birmingham.

Stoke City have denied that they have been approached by Wolves for striker James Beattie.

“I would expect Mick to ring me if they were interested, and he hasn`t,” Stoke boss Tony Pulis told the Express & Star.

He added: “I think people are going to throw names into the hat all of the time at this time of year because of the January transfer window.”

We know Mick is actively looking for attacking options, with a winger and a striker believed to be the main aims.

But so far, he appears to be struggling.
