Both Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy and Wolves CEO Jez Moxey were not afraid to show their delight at the signing of Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara.
Last season O’Hara enjoyed a loan spell at Wolves and as soon as the season ended and we had secured our Premier League survival, we activated a clause to make the move permanent.
Officially the deal is undisclosed as is all of our dealings in the transfer market, but it has been reported that the deal is for £5million, with O’Hara signing a five-year-contract.
‘I am delighted the deal has been done which will see Jamie become a permanent Wolves player, It may have taken a bit of time to finalise all the details but it was always going to happen because we wanted to sign him and he wanted to come.’ McCarthy told Wolves Official Website.
He added: ‘He has also built up a great rapport with the fans who have enjoyed watching him play, particularly of course with the Goal of the Season he scored against West Brom.
‘Jamie is a quality player – a Premier League player – and just the sort we need to bring in to strengthen the squad ahead of another season in the division.’
Wolves CEO Jez Moxey added: ‘We are delighted to make Jamie our first confirmed signing of the summer particularly given the impressive loan spell he enjoyed with us over the second half of last season.’
He also confirmed: ‘In keeping with Club policy, the financial terms of the transfer will remain undisclosed.’
Vital Wolves Comment: With the signing of O’Hara now complete. Wolves will hopefully now shift focus on to our main area which is in need of improvement.
Hopefully we should soon see some movement in this area, because Moxey and McCarthy are well known for trying to get their business done early, so now one piece of the jigsaw has been added, the other pieces will hopefully fall into place over the next few weeks.
