Wolves target Matt Mills has held talks with Reading and has decided against handing in a transfer request.
Mills has 12 months remaining on his current contract and has been offered a brand new deal by Reading, which is thought to be worth up to £20,000-a-week.
With Reading still wanting £4million if Mills decides against signing a new contract and Wolves apparently not willing to budge from £3million, our hopes of signing the 24-year-old defender look unlikely.
However it isn’t all bad news.
Sources close to Mills have told the Express & Star that if we can agree a fee, then we are his first choice move.
Previously it wasn’t clear who Mills favoured in regards to Stoke, Blackburn and us and yesterday Leicester also made a move for Reading captain.
But if this claim is true then the only sticking point is a fee and once we’ve cracked that, Mills should be on his way to Molineux.
