Match Stats: Wolves v Everton – Take A Point & Move On

|

Wolverhampton Wanderers kicked off our 2018/19 Premier League campaign on Molineux soil earlier today as we hosted Everton.

With optimism high after the Championship title win last season and further strengthening and spending under our new owners Fosun this summer, everyone was relishing this tie and kick off.

As expected, we were also treated to some debuts!

We were also treated to a mixed, but entertaining four-goal game and there will be some disappointment that we didn’t manage to take all three points on offer when they were reduced to ten men, but such is football you can’t have everything and even with a man’s disadvantage, Everton battled admirably.

Ruben Neves and summer signing Raul Jimenez are off the mark for 2018/19 and there are a number of other positives we can take from the match but we’ll be hoping to be tighter in defence moving forward given the two goals we did concede on the day.

A steady start though with all the players effectively adjusting to a new level, so I doubt they’ll be many complaints at this one. Roll on the next match now!
