Wolves are one of the 16 Category One Academy sides taking part in the competition this season on a trial basis.

Match Day referee Heywood has officiated 17 games in 2016/17 with a return of 77 yellow cards and one red card.

His highest card count this season was seven yellows in the game between Notts County and Plymouth Argyle. He’s shown seven yellows on three occasions.

He took in 27 matches in 2015-16 and in those games, across all competitions and football divisions, he handed out a total of 91 yellow cards and seven red cards.

He was most card happy in the match between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Barnet on August 25 with a total of six yellows shown. Birmingham and Nottingham Forest on September 15 also saw six.

Let`s hope it`s not another repeat and more of our players edge closer to automatic bans.
