Wolves have not yet given up on agreeing a deal to take Michael Mancienne from Chelsea.

If Mancienne does return to Molineux this season it would be the third season he has been part of our squad. Which of course might prove pivotal if we are to get him, as surely he probably feels more at home amongst the Wolves squad than he does with his Chelsea teammates?

But while Michael Mancienne may well want to join us on a permanent switch, Chelsea are yet to agree a fee for the England under-21 international.

Wolves have been fairly open with our evaluation of around £4million, but Chelsea (because their skint these days) want more.

The negotiations though can continue for a while longer, as the Express & Star believe we have to sell before we can buy anyway.

The paper also believes that it isn’t a case of either signing Guirane N`Daw on loan or buying Michael Mancienne and that Mick McCarthy may well want to bring both players to the club.

But the shape of McCarthy’s squad isn’t likely to take its full shape until after the close of the summer transfer window as Mick looks to do some late wheeling and dealing.
