Plenty of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that John McGinn could be targeted by the club.

According to TEAMtalk, sources close to the player claim that the Scotland international is attracting interest from Nuno’s side, as well as Leicester City and Everton.

McGinn, 25, was previously linked to Manchester United in the summer, but it is now said that they will be targetting his Villa teammate in Jack Grealish instead.

Despite picking up an injury in December, the player has been able to score three times and assist twice, giving him five goal contributions from just 18 games – not a bad return for a player who’s been playing in a side who have just been promoted to the Premier League.

For Villa, it would be horrible to see a player so important to them leave to one of their local rivals, so if they do end up getting relegated, they could be in a whole lot of trouble an have no choice.

Would you sign John McGinn?

Yes

No

There was a pretty mixed response from fans. Lots loved the idea of picking up the midfielder, while others suggested that they wouldn’t want him due to the fact he wouldn’t get in their team.

You can understand from both sides of the argument, as with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves in the team in the moment it’s hard to see where he would fit in.

Nevertheless, McGinn is only 25 and Moutinho is 33, so there will definitely be a replacement needed sooner rather than later.

Fantastic player. Some fans are inherently thick, and can’t see his undoubted qualities, including unfortunately, some of my fellow Wolves’ fans.

Villa would be reluctant to sell to Wolves but even so, McGinn would fit in nicely at Molineux and freshen up the midfield, so asking about his availability would not do any harm.
What would be the asking price?
£20-30m would be a decent ask and Wolves can easily accommodate that!
