Loan watch: Another Wolves youngster waiting to make debut, could feature tonight

|

Ryan Giles has been short of playing time while on loan at Coventry City but isn’t the only Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster struggling. Dion Sanderson joined Cardiff City on loan at the end of January but has yet to make his debut for the Bluebirds.

The 20-year-old was left out of the matchday squad in City’s 1-1 draw with Reading (January 31), likely down to him only signing that day, and wasn’t eligible to play in their FA Cup defeat to Reading (February 4).

Sanderson would have hoped to return for Cardiff’s 1-0 win over Luton Town (February 8) but was left out by Neil Harris. Glen Williams of Wales Online said he travelled to Kenilworth Road with the team but was only a spectator. Harris opted for a very offensive bench, containing three wingers and two forwards.

It remains to be seen if Sanderson will make the squad ahead of Wednesday night’s meeting with Huddersfield Town. He’s unlikely to dethrone Jazz Richards at right-back, but Harris has said the 20-year-old is fit and available for selection so he could be considered for the bench.
