Wolves fans have been dealt some fantastic news on the brink of the new year in that Willy Boly could be returning to fitness sooner than expected.
According to reports from The Athletic’s Tim Spiers, the club are hopeful that the Frenchman will be back playing in the next few weeks – a huge boost to Wanderers if true.
The defender only had eight games in the league before he got injured, and according to stats website WhoScored, he was performing rather impressively. From his games, he managed to pick up two Man of the Match performances with an average of 4.9 aerials won per game and three tackles won per game – all figures which stand out against the rest of the defenders within the squad.
Additionally, he has an average match rating of 7.35 – figures only beaten by Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were absolutely delighted to hear about this development. Midfielders Leander Dendoncker and Romain Saiss have both been having to fill in defence in recent weeks, so this return should also free up another potential midfielder as an option, as pointed out by one of the replies below.

This is going to be a welcomed return for the club as they prepare for a hugely important second half of the season.
After 20 games, they are just five points shy of the Champions League places and they are in the final 32 of the Europa League, so obviously this is going to be a huge boost for them in both of these competitions when he returns.
