A win over Newcastle on Saturday would drag them back into the relegation dogfight according to our Mick.
Newcastle might feel comfortable sitting in 11th on 36 points, 4 points clear of relegation, however a win for Wolves and that would only leave them with a 1 point gap over ourselves.
“They`ve got 36 points but if we beat them, they`re in it, no question,” Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy told the Express & Star.
He continued: “Put it the other way ? if we win at Newcastle, are we out of it?
“They`ll be saying if they beat us they`ll be clearer ? just like Villa were saying before our last game.
“That would put seven points between us and them and would make them hard to catch.”
A win for Newcastle would almost certainly secure their future in the Premier League, but a win for us would also go a long way in the battle to avoid the drop.
Vital Wolves Comment: Since Doyle was injured on international duty we have been running a front page poll asking who we should select to play in his place.
So far the voting is too close to call:
45% of the vote has gone for Steven Fletcher, with 45% also going to Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, after the link with the possible signing of Jeremie Aliadiere the ‘Someone else’ option at first rose from no votes to 7%, but this has since dropped to 5% while Stephen Ward has steadily picked up the odd vote lifting him to 5%.
