The dust has barely settled on the 2016-17 season but football never sleeps does it. So, plans are afoot, now starting to fall into place, as far as Wolves’ pre-season preparations are concerned ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

It will be here before we know it! And a trio of testers for Wolves ahead of the 2017-18 Championship season has seen a pre-season friendlies against Leicester, Shrewsbury and Peterborough announced.

Wolves will welcome Leicester to Molineux for this meeting with the former Premier League winners on Saturday 29th July, kick off has been confirmed as 3pm.

Prior to this Wolves will head to Shrewsbury and Peterborough for meetings with the League One sides on Saturday 22nd (3pm) and Tuesday 25th (7:45pm) July, respectively.

Of course, as with any pre-season friendly, the main thing to get from these are a challenge and the continuation of fitness being built up – such games could always be subject to change too.

But, as things stand, these pre-season friendly will form the latest phase of boss Paul Lambert’s preparations – assuming he remains in charge – as he looks to guide Wolves to much more success in the Championship next season.

Another three friendlies will be played during Wolves’ pre-season trip to Europe.
