The legend that is Steve Bull believes that Aston Villa got lucky last week.

‘We might only have taken a point against Villa last Saturday, and not all three, but I was still delighted by what I saw. Let`s not forget, our ‘friends` from up the road arrived at Molineux having just beaten Chelsea and went back to Birmingham delighted to have returned with so much as a point.’ Bull wrote in his weekly column in the Express & Star.

It was a good performance that more than deserved a point and will help to add confidence following the game against Everton the week before.

But Bull went on to add that in his opinion, the decision to not award a penalty on Kevin Doyle cost us all three points: ‘yes, a draw wasn`t a bad result for us. But the more I think about that game, the more I think that we could have won it.

‘Had the referee awarded us that blatant penalty in the first-half, the result could have been very different.’

Vital Wolves Comment: In a way I`m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and putting the Villa game behind us.

We would have took a point before the game and that’s what we got, if the penalty decision had cost us a point then I`d still be cursing it. But as it is and as the week has gone on I`m far more relaxed about it!
