Latest report could be setback Wolves in their attempts to sign exciting midfielder – opinion

|

Wolves are reportedly knocking at the door of Dinamo Zagreb and their creative talent Dani Olmo, though they have some tough opposition.

It was reported yesterday by Sportske Novosi (via Sports Mole) that the club have made a £21.3m offer for the attacking midfielder, however, while a report today suggests that the club has made an offer, it also states that they could be rivalled by some more significant clubs.

According to Spanish reports (via Leicester Mercury), Barcelona have €50m in the kitty to splash on midfielders, and Dani Olmo, as well as Brazillian Matheus Fernandes are reportedly on the top of their agenda.

Leicester Mercury claims that both Leicester and Spurs are also wanting the 21-year-old, however, it is the Spanish giants that should have Wolves the most worried.

Due to the fact that Dani Olmo departed La Masia to join Dinamo Zagreb as a youth player,  there are reports which suggest that the midfielder is in regular communication with his former club and that could play a big part in him rejoining the club.

This is contrasting to the previous story from Sportske Novosi, who allege that the Spanish champions have pulled out of the race for their former youth player.

They also suggest that Manchester United, Chelsea and AC Milan are interested in his transfer, which leaves a pretty long list of admirers.

With Olmo coming through at La Masia, it would be really hard to turn down an opportunity at the club he already knows, whereas if he comes to England, Wolves might feel that they can match the offer of another English club if they can assure minutes.

From 22 games this season, he has managed to score eight goals and create seven, so he is in good nick. From his senior career, he has 34 in 124, as well as 28 assists for the Croatian giants, so now seems like a good time for the Spanish international to get his next big move.
