Wolves’ topsy turvy season continued last night with a 2-1 home win against league strugglers Scunthorpe United.

United took a fifth minute lead when Andy Butler rose abover the Wolves defence to head home Grant McCann’s corner.

But a second half thunderbolt from Michael Gray, a late header from Neill Collins secured all three points for Wanderers.

After the game Mick McCarthy said

‘You can look at it as being a scrappy horrible game or being a gutsy fightback. I am not bothered about anything other than the fact we won.’

And to be honest, at this point in the season, neither am I.

With a game in hand on Hull, Palace and Plymouth, Wolves are now within touching distance of 5th and sixth places with 8 games to go.

8 games that could make or break Mick McCarthy’s reign.
