Following his appearance against Manchester United reserves, Michael Kightly took another step down the comeback trail against Blackburn Rovers reserves last night.

Kights played an hour and got on the scoreboard giving Wolves the lead after 34 minutes.

Blackburn were back level just before Kights was substituted

‘Kights had another 60 minutes as planned on the next stage of his comeback,’ Development Coach Steve Weaver told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: ‘he looked bright and lively and scored a good goal.

‘I think this is where he is at the moment in terms of just building up his game time.

‘It’s not so much about what he does out there but the reaction and how he feels the next morning.

‘But it was all very positive again and we’ll just see how he reacts and take it from there.’

After Kights came off the pitch the game really heated up!

Referee Bristow sent off Matt Doherty for pulling back Nikola Kalinic and Blackburn took advantage of having the extra man, scoring the winner with only three minutes remaining.

The drama however didn’t end there, as the game finished 10-a-side following Darryl Goulon’s sending off.

Goulon firstly kicked Nathan Rooney in the chest to earn the red card and then once he was given his marching orders he followed that up with a punch!
