Plenty of Wolves fans have expressed their discontent after Adama Traore was consistently fouled throughout his side’s match versus Tottenham.
Wanderers lost for the first time in 11 in the Premier League at home to Jose Mourinho’s side, though it must be said that they were really hard done by to lose.
In amongst the action once again was Adama Traore. The Spaniard is in immense form at the moment and he managed to turn that into a goal after his thunderbolt put his side level with Spurs.
During the match, there were a notable amount of cynical fouls on the 23-year-old from players who had no other option but to hack his legs out to prevent him on the counter. Understandably, this irked many Wolves fans, and Athletic reporter Tim Spiers even tweeted about it post-match.
Spiers wrote about how he has had the most bookings in the country for fouls on him as well as being the most fouled player in the final third, unsurprisingly, many fans weren’t very happy.
It’s due to his pace. When players are quicker than you believe they are, you’re more likely to be late with a challenge.

@premierleague these aren’t just niggly fouls, these are karate kicks hacking away at someone miles off the ball. For some reason this foul is tolerated. Rules need looking at . If you are off your feet and miles from the ball then that’s a red

It was blatant fouling too, they weren’t in any way even attempting to win the ball

These players getting yellow cards for Cynical hacking fouls and our players get the same punishment for pushing a player.

Despite people calling for rule changes, it was still a good game for the club, and Traore was particularly impressive.
According to stats from WhoScored, he managed more dribbles than anyone in his team with five and won an impressive four fouls. All of that, coupled in with his rocket of a goal, was enough to earn him the Man of the Match award by the statistics website.
