It was being reported yesterday that agent Jorge Mendes had met with Juventus officials this week to discuss the possibility of Andrea Favilli making the switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Molineux.

The 21-year-old Italian Under 21 striker is believed to be valued by the Serie A side at £17.6million and they have only just re-signed Favilla from Ascoli. He spent two years in their development squad, making his debut for the Old Lady as a substitute back in February 2016. Having moved to Ascoli last summer, according to the stats I can find, he made one starting appearance in the Coppa Italy, scoring against Chievo.

Such little game time with such a large transfer fee leaves me instantly thinking nonsense.

In any event, Sky Sports Itali describe him as ‘one of the brightest prospects in Italy’ and they believe his capture would be a statement of intent but clearly Juventus are just looking to make a quick profit as we did with Benik Afobe.

I’d be surprised if anything came of this particular rumour, to be honest.
