Wolves On The Tweet

Journalist Names Wolves As Destination For Mexican International

The name Edson Alvarez has been a pretty regular sight on Wolverhampton Wanderers summer transfer rumour mill so far this summer.

The 21-year-old had reportedly already agreed a deal with an unnamed European club, but then America’s Sporting Director Santiago Banos clarified that there had been approaches for the player, but no fee had yet been agreed with any of the interested clubs.

“There Has Not Been An Offer” – Director Addresses Speculation About Reported Wolves Target

The Mexican international centre-half was said to be available for around the £8million mark owing to a release fee, and the speculation certainly hit the right mark for many fans as they took to social media when the rumours first began.

Speculation did go quiet for a couple of weeks but journalist Jonatan Pena has now categorically stated that Wolves are the club the player has chosen as he answered a question from a fan on Twitter.

Asked if the deal hinged simply on the player not getting injured whilst on international duty this summer, Pena responded simply with the word “Wolves”.

There naturally remains some scepticism about the claim, but in the shirt on the pitch is the only real way of approaching transfer speculation at this time of the year.
