Wolves captain Roger Johnson is set for his first ever experience of the Black Country derby.

Having previously played for Cardiff and Birmingham, Johnson does have some experience of derbies as a player and as a supporter he grew up as a Chelsea season ticket holder, so he knows what to expect when it comes to intensity and supporter passion.

‘Cardiff-Swansea and Blues-Villa were always a bit tasty, but even Wycombe and Oxford hate each other, and so do Wycombe and Cheltenham.’ Johnson told Wolves Official Website.

He continued: ‘I’ve played in a few derbies over the years but I don’t know much about this one but it’s another one I’m looking forward to.

‘Like us, they’re not in a great run of form, but any form you might be in goes out of the window in games like this.

‘It will all be down to which team is better on the day and we’ll certainly be up for it.’

Vital Wolves Comment: We have of course edged the Black Country derby games in recent years.

We have already beaten them and drawn with them earlier this year, whilst their last win at The Hawthorns was five years ago, so hopefully we can keep that record going!
