The transfer window might be referred to as the January sales by some, but trying to bolster the squad is not like a trip to the supermarket according to Steve Morgan.
The Wolves owner was talking about how difficult it is to bring in quality players during the January transfer window in comparison to the end of season window.
But despite it being difficult, Morgan was pleased with the deals that gaffer Mick McCarthy had already concluded.
‘We have brought in two exciting young players, Emmanuel Frimpong on loan and Eggert Jonsson permanently, and they are excellent,’ Wolves owner Steve Morgan told Wolves Official Website.
He continued: ‘Will we bring in any more? It’s difficult. The manager has money to spend but it’s difficult trying to get clubs to part with their players. It tends to be easier doing that in the close season. It’s not like going to the local supermarket and just loading up your trolley.
The idea gave me a strange mental image of Dale Winton presenting the latest transfer rumours on Sky Sports News, an image I unfortunately will not be able to shift for a while (so I thought I’d share it…..well it is Friday the 13th).
He concluded: ‘I think we are the only club to have brought two players in so far and we did both of those deals before the window actually opened.’
