After a sterling first year back in the Premier League in the campaign of 2018/19, Wolverhampton Wanderers also made a return to European action given our seventh place finish and preparations are all go for Sunday’s 2019/20 opener against Leicester City.

With a decent pre-season under our belt and success so far in Europe, Wolves fans will be hoping for consolidation, if not further improvement this year under head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and plenty will be hoping that after a pretty quiet summer so far on a transfer front, Thursday’s deadline day is a pretty busy one as we look to strengthen our options.

Physioroom’s injury table only listed Matt Doherty and Raul Jimenez as being potential doubts for the opener but both players are expected to be fully back in training after their recent knocks later today, so if all goes well, Nuno should have a full group to choose from as we look to take three points and build spirits further.

Both did definitely return to training as later on during Wednesday, Nuno confirmed that they were in the travelling squad for Thursday’s Europa League clash against FC Pyunik. Morgan Gibbs-White is rated as 50/50 though.
